The Camden-Castine Race - August 1-2
The 37th Annual Camden-Castine Race is governed by the USSA Racing Rules of Sailing and is open to all yachts possessing a valid and current PHRF certificate. The event is hosted by the Camden Yacht Club.
The Course: The race on Saturday will be from Camden to Castine. The race on Sunday will be from Castine to Camden. Precise information will be given in the race packets, available at the Camden Yacht Club after 1800 hrs, the day before the first race.
Classes: The Race Committee will run starts for PHRF Classes A, B, C, D, Multi-Hull and Cruising Divisions.
The Starting Time: Skipper's Meeting: 0900 hrs., Saturday at the Camden Yacht Club. The first class warning signal will be at 1100 hrs each morning.
Registration: The Registration Fee for all Classes is $65.00. If an Owner or Skipper is a valid current USSA member, then deduct $5.00. Your USSA membership number must be on your entry form. Preregistration deadline is the day before the first race. A $10.00 late fee will be assessed for registration after this date.
The Awards: Awards will be made to the First, Second and Third place finisher in each class that has 4 or more boats. If a class has 3 boats, awards will be made to First and Second places only. If a class is run with only 2 boats, then only the top finisher will qualify for an award.
Social Events: On Friday evening, registration packets may be picked up at the Camden Yacht Club. We will have some refreshments and munchies available for you. There will also be a bring-your-own dinner style picnic. The grill will be fired up and ready for your use.
Saturday End of Race - Social event to be announced.
Sunday End of Race - Annual baked-bean and hot dog post race "tea" at Wayfarer Marine. Awards ceremony.
