Italian Night & Fund-Raising Auction - Saturday, April 18th, 5 PM

Event Highlights

The RYC Auction/Dinner fund raiser of Saturday, April 18th  was a fun time that will keep on giving enjoyment to some very lucky people of the 57 members and guests that attended.  For example, there is a Sunday River ski week end for two to be enjoyed this coming ski season; two lobster dinners at the Ocean’s Edge; two pizza night dinners also at the Ocean’s Edge;  a cocktail party accompanied by live Harp music by our very own Carlotta Miller;  the painting “Oar” will be enjoyed in the buyer’s home, along with another original painting “Fruit Basket” purchased by another member; a beautiful Forsythia bush will beautify one couple’s yard for years to come.  And a few other members will be hearing a brass bell ring and wind chimes blowing in the summer breeze.  One lucky member will have smooth sailing by owning the framed Penobscot Bay Chart he won with his bid.  

     Special thanks go out to Al Hodsdon for his notable talent as the night’s auctioneer.

     The above mentioned were only “the live” auction items.  There is also a lot more enjoyment to come from the wonderful silent auction donations that were bid on and won. 

     The Lasagnas, salads, and bread were delicious…. The appetizers and desserts were over the top………. Members, you out did yourselves for this event…. We loved it!!

Thanks to all of you who donated, helped decorate, cooked, hauled, fixed, set up, served, helped with the auction, the 50/50 chance and clean up for a night of fun and laughs.    . 

     We thank Nancy Mason Allen of Hair Studio, who loaned us the Italian decorations, Mike Fisher Caterers whose warming oven kept the lasagna hot, The Rockport Garden Club for the use of their tables, and The Atlantic Challenge for the chairs.

     So, now, how did we do on the financial side of the night?  The silent auction, live auction, 50/50 chance and fridge purchases brought in a whopping $1187, (after expenses of $45).  The proceeds will go into RYC treasury where it will be a big help with club expenses.

     Thank you everyone for helping make this evening so much fun and such a success.
