5th Annual Western Penobscot Bay Rendezvous - July 18

The 5th Annual Western Penobscot Bay Rendezvous is a great weekend activity for those who enjoy a little not-so-serious competition. There’s something, and more, for everyone.The two races, combined as the "Paper Cup Regatta," are followed by a cocktail hour and dinner at the Camden Yacht Club. Rockland Yacht Club, Rockport Boat Club, and Camden Yacht Club members and guests are invited to participate.
The schedule is as follows:
| 1000 hrs. | All participating sailboats gather at Rockport Bell “RWRO” (44 09.49N, 069 03.20W) for start of the fun race (“Paper Cup Regatta”) to Pulpit Harbor. Finish will be abeam of Osprey Nest on Pulpit Rock (44 09.60N, 068 53.40W). Diligent of CYC will be the Committee Boat. Monitor Channel 68 for race instructions and information. |
| Lunch | All boats will raft in Pulpit Harbor for a “get to know everyone” BYO lunch. Rafting to another club boat is required or the racer loses 10 PHRF points. Rafting to two boats of another club will be worth 10 extra points and rafting with a power boat is double the points. |
| 1400 hrs. | The fun race back to Camden will start outside Pulpit Harbor and finish at Camden Harbor Entrance Bell “R2” (44 12.00N, 069 02.41W). Monitor Channel 68 for instructions. |
| 1700 hrs | The race is over. |
| 1730 hrs. | The cocktail hour starts promptly at 1730. BYOB Cocktails and Passed Hors d'oeuvres at CYC. CYC provides drink setups and ice. Open to all members of CYC, RYC and RBC and their guests. The dinner will feature a special menu from CYC's new chef Mike Fisher of Mike's Catering. If you have any special dietary requests, please let us know in advance.
